Key Model for Drug Development of Gastric Ulcer
Gastric ulcer (or gastric ulcer, GU) is a common gastrointestinal disorder most often referred to as ulceration of the lining of the stomach. It is mainly caused by the breakdown of the gastric mucosa due to chronic Helicobacter pylori infection and overuse of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., NSAIDs). The disease typically presents with symptoms such as stomach pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, and in severe cases, gastric perforation or gastric hemorrhage.
We have established a stable acetic acid-induced gastric ulcer model and an acetic acid + indomethacin-induced refractory gastric ulcer model, which are suitable for preclinical gastric ulcer drug research and new drug evaluation.
