Key Model for Gout Drug Development
Gout is a disease caused by excessive deposition of uric acid. Gout can be categorized into primary, secondary and idiopathic according to its cause, with primary gout accounting for the vast majority of cases. Most gout patients can work and live normally. In the chronic stage of the disease, the joints may be deformed, but some patients can be restored through surgical correction. The risk of death is increased if accompanied by hypertension, diabetes or other kidney diseases.
We developed a stable monosodium urate (MSU)-induced gout model suitable for the study of drugs for preclinical gout and the evaluation of new drugs.
