Key Model for Drug Development in Sepsis
Sepsis is a syndrome of systemic inflammatory response caused by infection, commonly seen in patients with severe trauma or infectious diseases. The causes of the disease include infections caused by bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites, leading to an inflammatory response and imbalance in the body's immune regulation. Disease types are categorized as sepsis, severe sepsis, and septic shock. Sepsis can progress to severe sepsis and septic shock, which can lead to life-threatening organ insufficiency and circulatory disorders.
We have established a stable model of sepsis with cecal filtrate infection and a model of sepsis induced by cecal perforated ligation, which are suitable for the study of drugs with preclinical sepsis and the evaluation of new drugs.
