Key model of diabetes drug development
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease marked by hyperglycemia, triggered by absolute or relative insufficiency of insulin secretion and impaired utilization. The disease is mainly categorized into three types: type I, type II and gestational diabetes. In addition, patients with a long course of the disease may cause chronic progressive lesions, functional decline or even failure of tissues and organs such as the eyes, kidneys, nerves, heart and blood vessels, as well as acute severe metabolic disorders.
We have established stable models of type I and type II diabetes, which are suitable for preclinical diabetes drug research and new drug evaluation.
