Regarding skin scars

Skin scars are fibrous connective tissue produced by the body's repair of damaged skin tissue. It can be divided into hypertrophic scars, keloids, and depressed scars.

After the formation of skin scars, it may have physiological effects on patients, such as scar contractures in the hands after burns, which can cause the fingers to be unable to bend and extend normally, affecting the grasping function of the hands. At the same time, it is more likely to affect the psychological health of patients, making them prone to negative emotions such as inferiority and anxiety.

The promotion of preclinical pharmacology in the study of skin scars

Preclinical pharmacological studies can rapidly test multiple drugs by establishing appropriate animal models, such as skin scar models in mice, rats, rabbits, and pigs.

Preclinical pharmacodynamic studies help clarify the targets of drugs at the cellular and molecular levels. For anti scar drugs, they may act on fibroblasts, inflammatory cells, or extracellular matrix components.
