Key model of Peripheral artery disease drug development
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is an abnormal narrowing, occlusion or dilatation of aorta and its arterioles other than coronary artery. PAD is the most common cause of peripheral obliterative arteriopathy. The underlying mechanism of PAD is atherosclerosis, the risk factor for PAD is also similar, including cigarette smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, advanced age, obesity.
KCI provides highly translatable and stable in vivo models for PAD and other vascular disease to help preclinical new drug development.
