Author: ComeFrom: Date:2025/2/14 15:48:55

Regarding vaginal inflammatory diseases

1.Vaginitis is the most common gynecological disease that can occur in all age groups, mainly including trichomonas vaginitis, bacterial vaginosis, viral vaginitis, vulvovaginal candidiasis, etc. It has the characteristics of high incidence rate and diverse causes, which may have different impacts on life。

2.Viral vaginitis is mainly caused by human herpesvirus (mainly HSV-2), human papillomavirus (HPV), etc. In recent years, the incidence rate in the world has increased year by year (about 490 million people worldwide have been infected with HSV-2), which troubles hundreds of millions of women.

3.At present, the main treatment methods for vaginitis are medication, including local medication, oral medication, detergents, etc.

4.Although there are currently many treatment methods, vaginitis is prone to recurrence, especially for patients with low immune function, underlying diseases, or lack of personal hygiene.

5.Currently, new drugs targeting vaginitis, such as microbiota regulators, novel azole immunomodulators, and precision therapy drugs, are being developed and focused on.

KCI Anti Infection R&D and Service Platform

KCI·KMQ has a well-established BSL-2/ABSL-2 laboratory, an anti infection research and service platform, and dozens of large and small animal disease models. It has achieved significant results in virology research, drug development, veterinary medicine, and other fields.

SHV-2-mediated guinea pig vaginitis model

Experimental animal: Guinea pig, female

Modeling method: Vaginal injection of HSV-2 virus induces vaginal infection/local application of external genital skin infection

Experimental objective: To establish a model of acute and recurrent reproductive tract lesions in guinea pigs for subsequent evaluation of test substances

Weight changes

External genital skin lesions and clinical scoring

Pathological changes in vaginal mucosa
